AT the latest leg of
the Go Negosyo Caravan, the team led by Presidential Consultant for
Entrepreneurship Joey Concepcion and Founding Trustee of the Philippine
Center for Entrepreneurship, once again gave due recognition, this time,
to the Most Inspiring Bulakenyo Entrepreneurs and Microentrepreneurs. Last Friday, the Centrodome of Centro Escolar University in Malolos, Bulacan was heated up not merely because it was a sun-drenched day, but mainly due to the active participation of budding entrepreneurs and students of Bulacan. Of course, the vigorous involvement of the entire Go Negosyo team and the guests summed up to the success of the recent caravan. Once again, I was honored to grace another Go Negosyo activity and bequeath apt recognition to the inspiring entrepreneurs of Bulacan. These awardees have successfully excelled in their respective businesses, have proven to be running sustainable enterprises despite the challenges they have encountered, and are good role models that will inspire not only their fellow Bulakenyos but also our entire countrymen. Bulacan’s most inspiring microentrepreneurs awardees were Teddy Bequizo, Buntal Ethnic Enterprises; Teresita Castro-Boado, Barasoain Bakeshop; Carlito Del Rosario, Sta. Maria Dairy Farmers Multi-Purpose Cooperative, Inc; Corazon Dela Cruz, LCJ Garments; Desiree Duran, Duran Farms; Ramon Santos, Disenyo Pandi-bagong Barrio Multi-Purpose Cooperative; and Arnel Papa of ER Shellcraft. Jewelry masterpieces of Arnel Papa are worn by many local showbiz celebrities and some foreign personalities. Meanwhile, the 10 most inspiring Bulakeño awardees include Dr. Alicia Bustos, owner of Baliuag University; shoemaker Donald Esteban of the Proest Phils, Inc.; Dr. Antonio Fortuna of St. Martin of Tours Credit and Development Cooperative; Jose Hernandez, Jr., maker of Milko Ice Cream specialties; Dr. Isabel Lopez-Nazal of Clinica Dermatologica YSA Skin Care Center; Jovenson Ong, owner of Dragon Fireworks; Dr. Abraham Pascual of Pascual Laboratories, Inc.; Enrico Roque of Bodega ng Bayan, Inc.; Nestor Santiago of Bulacan Garcen Corporation; and Coun. Gemma Sevilla-Alcantara, proprietor of Sevilla Sweets. Special awards were given to Dr. Ma. Cristina Padolina of Centro Escolar University and Amb. Jesus Tambunting of Planters Bank. Other guests include Las Piñas Congresswoman Cynthia Villar, Bulacan Governor Joselito Mendoza, restaurateur Gaita Flores, and Tony Llanes, a visually impaired computer enthusiast. Tony was a recipient of last year’s Go Negosyo Most Inspiring Person with Disabilities or PWDs and the founding president of ATRIEV, a non-profit organization which offers computer education for the blind. The inspiration displayed by Tony Llanes and the rest of the awardees truly demonstrates an amazing ability to persuade, encourage and inspire people into action. For us in the government, we are always motivated to offer the comprehensive Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise development programs to the escalating Filipino entrepreneurs. |
